The Energy Storage Technology Training program, leverages both SUNY Poly faculty expertise and the institution’s energy storage laboratory, as it targets and trains two sets of new workers. The two training programs will teach attendees the fundamentals of energy storage technologies, giving you an understanding of battery cell manufacturing and teaching you the skills to manage storage units and innovate in this technology field.
Energy Storage Technology Workforce Training Program - Two Weeks
Who should attend: Recent High School graduates, two or four years College students or graduates, and unemployed or underemployed individuals seeking to learn about electrical energy storage and Li-ion batteries to find related jobs or to advance within their current job. Students will be trained in a two-week program offered in Winter and Summer of 2022.
Energy Storage Technology Capstone Training Program - Two Academic Semesters
Who should attend: College students who are interested in learning and be trained on battery fundamentals, electrical energy storage, and battery management systems to find related jobs or to advance within their current job. Students will be trained in a two semesters Capstone program offered in Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.
High School Students Training Program
Who should attend: High School Junior or Senior students who are interested in learning and be trained on Li-ion batteries, electrical energy storage, and battery management systems. Students will be trained in a two semesters program offered in Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters or during a four weeks summer program in July 2022.
Funded by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) the Energy Storage Technology Training program is designed to power hands-on training that will build capacity and develop a qualified pool of scientists, engineers, and workers in the areas of energy storage technologies, specifically rechargeable batteries, and grid modernization.
