U.S. News and World Report released its annual report on the Best Colleges in the United States. One local CNY school is among the best when it comes to serving veterans.

U.S. News & World Report considers colleges based on a variety of factors, including tuition costs, average salary of graduates and geographical location.

The report is divided into two major categories: universities and liberal arts colleges, and also considers regional colleges divided into regions. Central New York is included in the North region. Regional schools offer a full range of undergraduate programs and some master’s programs but few doctoral programs. This ranking is divided into North, South, West and Midwest schools.

SUNY Polytechnic Institute came out near the top in a number of categories.
