Selection Recognizes SUNY Poly’s Commitment to Exciting Opportunities for
Students Transferring from Community Colleges

ALBANY and UTICA, NY – SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) has been recognized by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) as one of only 150 colleges and universities in the country to be named to its 2021 Transfer Honor Roll. The Transfer Honor Roll recognizes four-year colleges and universities that have developed exceptional transfer pathways that lead to excellence and success among community college students. 

SUNY Poly has focused extensively on facilitating innovative, seamless transfer opportunities for students who are currently studying at a number of Mohawk Valley- and Capital Region-based community colleges. Recently, Onondaga Community College (OCC) President Dr. Casey Crabill and SUNY Poly Acting President Dr. Tod A. Laursen signed a transfer articulation agreement which provides students who earn their associate degree at OCC a seamless pathway into one of 12 degree programs at SUNY Poly.

Additional, simplified transfer paths to SUNY Poly baccalaureate programs include the following:

• More than 50 paths created or updated via an expanded “Path to Poly” agreement with Mohawk Valley Community College;
• Eight new transfer paths from Herkimer County Community College;
• A dual admissions program between SUNY Poly and SUNY Adirondack, granting students accepted to the community college admittance into a bachelor’s degree program at SUNY Poly;
• Twenty-nine new transfer paths from Hudson Valley Community College; and
• A nanoscale engineering transfer program with SUNY Schenectady County Community College.
