SUNY Poly Promotes Eclipse Day Activities With Radio Appearances
SUNY Poly's Dr. Kristina Boylan (Associate Professor of History), Bill Dustin (Coordinator of University Conferencing and Events) and Dr. Shing Chi Leung (Assistant Professor of Physics) were recently on WIBX's “Keeler in the Morning” and “Big Poppa in the Morning” on Mix 102.5 to discuss the upcoming solar eclipse and festivities taking place on campus, celebrating the rare event.
In the interview, Dr. Leung describes the scientific aspect of the solar eclipse phenomenon, and the safety precaution about observing the solar eclipse, while Dr. Boylan discusses the cultural and historical aspect of it. Dustin further promoted the solar eclipse viewing party to be held on SUNY Poly's campus, as well as the upcoming Summer Spotlight Series 2024, which is a collection events in the areas of STEM, the arts, athletics, wellness, to be held from June to August.
