"...Grose has been chosen to lead a newly established organization called NY CREATES that will operate SUNY Poly's research labs and clean rooms, making them available to researchers from universities across the state and elsewhere. Those researchers will seek to develop high-tech breakthroughs alongside commercial tenants like IBM and GlobalFoundries that already use the campus for their advanced research and development.

"I think it's an incredible resource for the state," SUNY Chancellor Kristina Johnson told the Times Union in an exclusive interview alongside Grose and Howard Zemsky, the state's top economic development official. "It's a really solid part of the SUNY system, and will continue to be a resource to attract researchers not only from Albany but Binghamton, Buffalo, Stony Brook, Cornell, Rochester. So it becomes something broader. That's the message here, that we're opening this up."
