Times Union: What do you get when you mix lawyers and engineers? A new kind of internship
SUNY Poly, Albany Law and SUNY Research to offer program on tech commercialization
The idea is to expose those students to the commercialization of technology research, said Grace Wang, SUNY Poly’s interim president. “This is the future of the education that we want to provide,” Wang said during a gathering at SUNY Poly’s Albany campus to sign the agreement.
“There’s a demand for lawyers who can bridge the gap between law and technology,” added Albany Law School President and Dean Alicia Ouellette. She added that students entering law school don’t always realize that there are options other than traditional areas like litigation, or tax law. “It’s a very different career path,” she said.
