Sexual
Harassment Prevention in the Workplace
On
January 1, 2011, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo issued Executive
Order No. 2 reissuing Executive Order No. 19,32 which
established State policy on sexual harassment in the
workplace. As noted in the Executive Order, sexual
harassment is both offensive and unlawful. Every State
employee is entitled to a working environment free from
sexual harassment and its negative economic, psychological
and physical effects. As employees of the Research
Foundation for SUNY and/or the State University of New York,
we all have a responsibility to uphold our commitment to
creating a working and academic environment free of
harassment and discrimination, and your responsibility for
prevention is paramount.
To
educate and promote awareness and prevention in the SUNY
Poly community, you are required to take a training on
Sexual Harassment Prevention by
November 2015
. To help you achieve this goal, SUNY Poly Human Resources
staff invites you to this training; the program is Sexual
Harassment, Awareness, Responsibility and Prevention
(SHARP).
Attendance is considered mandatory for all SUNY Poly
employees; if you are unable to attend at the scheduled
time please contact Caitlin Dempsey (
Caitlin.Dempsey@sunypoly.edu
) to be added to another of the sessions available.
