WKTV: Jarvis LEGO robotics team raising funds to get to National Championships
A group of local middle schoolers continues their quest to become national champions, but they need your help to get there.
Known as the Aqua Challengers, students from Jarvis Middle School’s FIRST LEGO League team are working to raise funds in order to get to the National Championships in Detroit on April 25-26. They made it through a qualifying round earlier this month at SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
FIRST LEGO League teams are made up of students in grades 4-8, and they allow students to get together to build, program and compete with LEGO-based robots.
In order to get to the final round, the Jarvis team needs to raise $12,000 by April 16. The funds will go toward travel, meals and hotel stays along the way.
