Voter Registration
In addition to providing students with accommodations, the Office of Student Accessibility Services is a National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) voter registration site. Students can visit the office for more information and to complete a New York State Voter Registration Form.

Voting in New York
New York uses a closed primary system. To vote in a political party's primary election, a voter must be enrolled in that party.
Party enrollment changes are subject to deadlines established by the New York State Board of Elections. Students should review current registration and party enrollment deadlines before an upcoming election.

How to Register
Students can register to vote in New York in several ways:
- Visit the Student Accessibility Services office in Kunsela Hall, Room B101.
- Register online using the New York State DMV voter registration system (opens in a new tab) if eligible to use the online service.
- Download the New York State Voter Registration Form (PDF) (opens in a new tab) or visit the New York State Board of Elections voter registration website (opens in a new tab) for registration information.
Voting When You Will Be Away From Your Polling Place
New York offers early mail and absentee voting options. Any registered voter may apply for an early mail ballot. Absentee voting is available to voters who meet qualifying circumstances, including being absent from their county on Election Day.

Accessible Voting
New York voters with a print disability may request a ballot with accessibility features. Print disabilities may include blindness, low vision, dyslexia, dysgraphia, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities that interfere with the effective reading, writing, or use of printed materials.
