The Center for Global Advanced Manufacturing (CGAM) offers students and collaborators the opportunity to engage with various manufacturing processes. Specifically, this can be accomplished within subsets of targeted work or through the entire process from design, manufacture, measurement, and testing which is then followed up with continuous improvement methods to ensure the project meets the desired specifications. The CGAM facilities include additive manufacturing 3D printing, digital prototyping equipment, CNC machine tools, CMM inspection, SEM and AFM analyses, static and dynamic/fatigue testing, and robotics equipment. CGAM is an inter-regional, manufacturing innovation resource which enables industry / academic collaborations and serves as a training ground for the next generation workforce.
Mission
CGAM supports manufacturing efforts within New York State and beyond and provides a variety of training and support services to improve competitiveness, thus enabling the sector's growth, and sustainability.
