The Department of Mathematics provides students with a strong foundation in mathematical theory, quantitative reasoning, and analytical problem-solving. Mathematics plays a critical role across SUNY Poly’s academic programs, supporting learning in engineering, computing, business, and the sciences.
Students develop analytical and quantitative skills valued in careers in engineering, finance, technology, education, operations research, and data analytics, as well as preparation for advanced graduate study.

Department of Data Science and Analytics
The Department of Data Science and Analytics prepares students to analyze, interpret, and apply data in ways that support innovation across industries. Students gain experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, computing, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Graduates are prepared for careers in data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, business intelligence, technology development, and research, as well as advanced graduate study in data science and related fields.
