Admissions Guidelines

To apply, candidates must have:

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Applicants without a civil engineering degree may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may need to complete prerequisite courses.

Application Instructions

1. Submit the online Application for Graduate Admission .
2. Pay the $60 Graduate Application Fee .
3. Request and submit official transcript(s) from all colleges previously attended, including any in-progress coursework.
4. Following submission of your application, check your email for a link to your Application Status Portal to upload the required application materials outlined below.

Required Application Materials

• Résumé
• Contact information for at least one (1) professional or academic reference

Important Notes

• Application Fee: The application fee is waived for military veterans, active-duty military, reserve and guard members, and their spouses and dependents; SUNY Poly alumni; current matriculated students; and graduates of the following opportunity programs: EOP, HEOP, and SEEK.
• Official Transcripts: Official transcripts can be sent electronically from your previous college or university to graduate@sunypoly.edu or mailed directly from the college or university to SUNY Polytechnic Institute Graduate Admissions, 100 Seymour Road, Utica, NY 13502.
• Foreign Transcripts: Foreign transcripts and documents must be professionally translated in English and evaluated. Applicants must use a service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. We require a course-by-course evaluation with your GPA calculated.
