Requirements for the Interactive Media & Game Design (IMGD) program include general education, campus-specific general education requirements, liberal arts and sciences, program core, career concentration and general electives.
General Education – 30 credits
Matches SUNY general education requirements. It is recommended that students take MAT 115 for their Mathematics General Education requirement, especially if a student plans to pursue the Computer Programming Professional Skills cluster.
Liberal Arts & Sciences – 62 credits
Students will earn at least 62 credits in the liberal arts and sciences, with most surpassing 70 credits. At least 30 credits will be earned in general education courses. A total of 24 credits will be earned in the Program Core. A total of eight (8) credits in the Career Concentration (COM 219 and COM 239) will carry liberal arts and sciences designation.
Campus-specific general education requirements – 0-4 credits
SUNY Polytechnic Institute requires one natural science course, and an upper-division writing course. Natural science may be satisfied within general education credits. Upper-division writing is satisfied within the program core.
