Admission Guidelines
To be considered for admission, all applicants to the MS Cybersecurity program must possess a baccalaureate degree with a major in cybersecurity, network and computer security or a related field from an accredited university or college. In addition, coursework in each of the following areas is required:
- computing fundamentals
- UNIX/linux programming
- computer organization
- networking of information systems
- discrete math
- calculus
- statistics.
Applicants must generally have an average of B or better (a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale). Applicants not meeting the above admission criteria will be considered on an individual basis. Applicants with deficiencies in any area may be required to take appropriate pre-requisite coursework beyond the 33 graduate credit hours required for the MS program. Required pre-requisite coursework can be determined before the time of admission. Pre-requisite coursework is required to be completed before starting the graduate program.

- Submit the online Application for Graduate Admission
- Pay the $60 Graduate Application Fee*
- Submit official transcript(s) from colleges previously attended, including any in-progress coursework
- Official transcripts can be sent electronically to graduate@sunypoly.edu or mailed directly from the college or university to SUNY Polytechnic Institute Graduate Admissions, 100 Seymour Road, Utica, NY 13502.
- Send official GMAT score report to Graduate Admissions^ (waivers available)
- Upload the following to your Application Status Portal:
- Résumé
- Contact information for at least one (1) professional or academic reference
*The application fee is waived for military veterans, active-duty military, reserve and guard members, and their spouses and dependents; SUNY Poly alumni; and current matriculated students.
Important note: Foreign transcripts and documents must be professionally translated in English and evaluated. Applicants must use a service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. We require a course-by-course evaluation with GPA calculated. http://naces.org/
