Transfer Achievement Scholarship Award Levels (award levels are subject to change)
- $1,500/year (Overall GPA of 3.5 - 4.0)
- $1,000/year (Overall GPA of 3.0 - 3.49)
To be considered for a SUNY Poly merit scholarship, a complete admissions application must be received. No additional application is needed.

For more than 100 years, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society has helped millions of high-achieving college students reach their full potential. PTK has a presence on approximately 1,300 community college campuses in 11 nations. PTK recognizes the academic achievement of college students and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders. SUNY Poly is proud to partner with PTK and honor deserving students.
- $500 award available to members of Phi Theta Kappa. (Awarded in addition to the Transfer Achievement Scholarship.)
To verify your PTK membership for scholarship consideration, submit one of the following items via email to admissions@sunypoly.edu, or upload to your application status portal:
- Official college transcripts with membership listing
- Letter from PTK advisor
- Copy of membership card
- Copy of induction certificate
The Dr. Naseem Qazi and Dr. Sala Qazi Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student who:
- is academically disadvantaged
- demonstrates financial need by filing a FAFSA and qualifying for a Pell award
Preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled in a STEM program, as well as to those applicants who have a refugee background.
Scholarship recipients can be considered for a renewal upon completion of a new application each year.
Application opens February 1 each year with a submission deadline of March 1. Awards will be announced in early April.
The NYS STEM Incentive Program provides tuition awards to students who are New York State residents attending a public or private degree-granting college or university located in New York State. Recipients must be in the top 10 percent of students of their high school graduating class, pursue an approved, two or four-year STEM degree program and agree to live in NYS and work in a STEM field in NYS for five years after graduation.

- Students majoring in the following undergraduate STEM programs at SUNY Poly are eligible to apply.
The Excelsior Scholarship program, in combination with other student financial aid programs, allows students who are New York State residents, and whose families earn $125,000 or less annually to attend a SUNY or CUNY college tuition-free.

The Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarship Program is designed to direct aid to undergraduate students who have demonstrated academic achievement and overcome a disadvantage or other impediment to success in higher education. Candidates will contribute to the diversity of the student body by demonstrating their commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in their academic programs and activities.
Eligibility Language Requirements
To participate in the ESDHSP (reference as applicable), candidates are required to:
- Be U.S. citizens or permanent resident status and
- New York State residents
- Demonstrate how they have overcome a disadvantage or other impediment to success in higher education.
- Demonstrate a commitment to contributing to the diversity of the student body by facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in their academic programs and campus activities.
Preference will be given to candidates who are:
From a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.
The Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarship Program is open to any and all prospective candidates regardless of race, color, national origin, or sex, and is consistent with all current governing federal and state nondiscrimination law. All application submissions will be assessed and evaluated in accordance with the required eligibility criteria.

Understanding the Impact of SUNY Poly's S-STEM Scholar Initiative (pdf linked)
The SUNY Poly S-STEM scholarship for Engineering and Engineering Technology Programs provides financial support and additional resources to help talented students with demonstrated financial need successfully complete an undergraduate degree in engineering and engineering technology programs. Funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (#2221230), the program provides the following to S-STEM scholars at Poly:
- Scholarship funding across 4 years
- Two-day orientation prior to the fall semester
- Cohort experience with fellow scholars in the program
- Mentoring and professional development programs
Scholar Eligibility
S-STEM scholar eligibility requires admittance into one of the college’s CE/T or ME/T undergraduate engineering programs plus:
- Unmet financial need
- Low-income status
- Domestic status (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, non-citizen admitted as a refugee, or non-citizen admitted as a permanent resident)
Students who were eligible for the following programs as a high school student may be eligible for S-STEM: Federal TRIO programs such as Federal Pell Grants, Upward Bound, GEAR UP), Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP), etc.
