SUNY Poly’s Course Access Program – Day 1 Digital

SUNY Poly’s Course Access Program provides discounted digital course materials delivered automatically on or before the first day of class.

If your course is listed as Day 1 Digital on the Online Bookstore portal, here’s what you need to know:

  • Accessing your materials: Digital access will be available on or before the first day of class. Depending on the publisher, materials may be delivered through your LMS or school portal, or access instructions will be provided by your instructor.
  • Discounted pricing: The cost of materials is billed as a course fee to your student account.
  • Additional materials: Some courses may require additional optional materials. If needed, you can purchase these through the SUNY Poly Online Bookstore.
     

If you choose not to participate in the Course Access Program, you may opt out through your bookstore within the first week of class and avoid any charges. You may also opt back in during that first week if you change your mind; otherwise, you’ll need to purchase your materials independently. Charges may not be removed from your student account until after drop/add.

Opt-Out Instructions:
Our Course Access Program - Day 1 Digital program provides digital course materials at a discounted price, automatically available on the first day of class. While this program is designed to save students money and time, participation is optional. All students not wanting to participate can opt out by the deadline. 

Important: Before opting out, please consult with your instructor to ensure you understand how the digital materials are used in your specific course. Once you opt out, your digital access will be revoked. You are responsible for acquiring all required course materials independently.

Before You Proceed

  1. Verify Your Course Status: Not all courses use Course Access. You can see if your course is in Course Access by logging into the bookstore site with your SUNY Poly credentials at sunypoly.vitalsource.com.

  2. If your course is NOT listed as Course Access: You must purchase your materials or order the e-text directly through the bookstore website.
  3. If your course IS listed as Course Access: Your materials are already provided digitally and can be accessed directly through the bookstore.
  4. Check the Course Drop Deadline: While Course Access is available on the first day of class, the opt-out process has a deadline of the Friday after classes begin.

FAQs

If you drop the course before the deadline, you are automatically opted out, and the fee will be removed from your student account. You do not need to fill out a waiver or contact anyone.

If it is past the deadline, you will not be able to opt out. If you need assistance opting out, please contact the online bookstore support through the Help button.

Yes, if it's before the deadline. If it is past the deadline, you will be responsible for acquiring all required course materials independently.

Refunds will be processed after the drop/add period. Please allow 1–2 weeks for the refund to process on your account.
