Our K-12 educational STEM Outreach programming through SUNY Poly, Utica immerses K-12 students in critical 21st century skills that are increasingly in demand within New York State’s innovation corridor, launching a lifetime of learning and curiosity and encouraging careers in all STEM related fields.

Grades K-3: Captures young curiosity directing it toward discovering the wonders of science and technology.
Grades 4-8: Students research a real-world engineering challenge and compete with LEGO-based robots of their own design.
Grades 7-12: Teams are challenged to design, build, and program a robot to accomplish various tasks with and against other robots.
Grades 9-12: Head to head competition on a special playing field with robots they have designed, built, and programmed.
SUNY Poly hosts and mentors FRC Team 5030 The Second Mouse.
Past and present SUNY Poly students serve as mentors and the Robot Lab resources are available to the team.
