Room Policies

photo of sitting space among the stacks in the librarySUNY Polytechnic Institute Library’s study rooms, meeting rooms, and lab spaces are dedicated to serving the overall educational needs of the SUNY Poly community.

Reservation requests that do not serve to further the educational experience of the SUNY Poly community will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and will be allowed only if space is available and the use of the rooms does not interfere with other major uses of the building such as quiet study, tutoring services, or a space to gather to do collaborative work.

Reservations outside of library open hours will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Designation of a SUNY Poly faculty or staff member is required to monitor the building during all hours the library is not open.

Room Reservations

SUNY Poly Library offers 315 seats in the Library’s public open areas, many of which have access to natural light and great views.  Reliable wireless networking and power are also abundant throughout.

There’s a space for every need--meetings, studying individually, working on a paper at a computer, or using one of our many whiteboards to generate ideas for a project. During the Fall and Spring Semester, SUNY Poly Library is open 7 days a week. Food and drinks are welcome throughout.
