Dear Campus Community,

Resident Dining: I am excited to announce the enhancements to our dining services program for the upcoming semester. Our resident dining program will be implementing a new food format called Simple Servings. Simple Servings is an allergen free zone that serves a balanced nutritional entrée and a location that provides fresh customized options that will engage our students.

Through student feedback we will be adding a frozen yogurt program with our local partners from Yolato Yogurt. The yogurt machine will have two flavors and a twist option. The yogurt is all natural, fat free, low in calories and CSA certified gluten free.

We will be starting a new sustainable take out program called Choose to Reuse. This grab and go program will provide students more dining options and greater flexibility with this quick and easy system. We invite students, faculty and staff at SUNY-Poly to participate in our new reusable container program.

Students on a 19, 14 and 10 meal plan will be given 2 guest passes per semester to use in the Campus Center for family or friends. The 19 and 14 meal plan have enhanced meal points to utilize in the new formats coming to the Student Center.

The hours of operation were adjusted to stay open one hour later for dinner Monday through Thursday until 8:00 pm. The tradition of local Thursday lunch will continue but also will now be offered at dinner.

A new signature Ice cream has been developed  by Perry`s for the students and  the campus community of SUNY-Poly called “Wildcat Crunch”  which is vanilla bean ice cream with golden caramel swirls and  crunchy blue pretzels.

Retail Dining: Over the past several years we have been conducting focus groups and have used several strategic planning tools to help us align our retail offers with student’s needs and requests. This summer renovations to the Student Center will bring new food concepts, and specific retail solutions that will impact student dining preferences. We are excited about our future and our plans to introduce the new food format options with the retail dining program.

Wholly Habaneros is one of the fastest growing concepts among college students, it is a fast casual Mexican format that is on par with Moe`s Southwest Grill and Chipotle. The students will enjoy building their own personal meals.

Slice of Life Pizza is a hand tossed fresh pizza and pasta concept that will feature classic pizza and specialty pizza`s like Buffalo chicken wing. Slices Deli will be featuring Thuman`s meats with local handcrafted European Bread and fresh local ingredients. Look for the new signature wrap called, The Wildcat wrap which is Crispy chicken, chipotle mayonnaise and bacon.

The Glocal station has been developed for today`s students who are foodies. They want to dine on cuisine from around the world and fused with local ingredients. This platforms flexibility allows students to get global flavors with local flair. This platform changes weekly to keep new and exciting food offers to the students and campus community.

We will be enhancing the Wildcat Grill menu with more made to order items and specialty sandwiches including some of our past favorites like the grass-fed Wildcat Burger.

As we look forward to the new changes and exciting food formats, Sodexo will look to continue to improve the quality of life for the entire campus community while enhancing the student experience.

Thank you, Michael Lusk GM Sodexo, SUNY
