SPECIALIST, HIGH IMPACT PRACTICES (FULL-TIME TEMPORARY GRANT) ENGAGEMENT and SUCCESS – TITLE III Function of Position: The Academies High Impact Practices (HIPs) Specialist is a two-year, grant-funded temporary position. The HIPs Specialist will work in, and foster, a dynamic and highly collaborative environment that is focused on student success from developmental education through credit bearing courses. The Academies HIPs Specialist will support the coordinators from each established HIP (WAC, URSICA, Service Learning, etc., please see The American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) for national definitions and research), and develop a system for keeping an inventory of the defined HIPs. The HIPs Specialist, in conjunction with the Teaching and Creativity Center (TCC), will guide faculty in developing courses that will address high impact learning criteria, and coordinate the process of assessing and evaluating the established High Impact Practices. The HIPs Specialist collaborates with the Academies team: faculty liaison(s), Academies Advisors, Academies Coordinator, office liaisons, and faculty, across all the schools, as well as with the TCC, Title III grant, and staff from various campus offices that provide services to students. The Specialist will coordinate the development of a HIPs master schedule and tracking system and have reporting responsibility to the Director of the Title III grant.
