Ivan Potocnik, lead programmer analyst for SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Marcy, has turned his 3D-printing hobby into an effort to protect the safety of healthcare workers by manufacturing medical face shields. Along with three others, Potocnik produces a strapless visor for sanitary purposes by using an open-source model created by a Swedish designer.
