Rome Sentinel: MVCC assistant professor to receive Status of Women award

Zonta Club of Oneida Area’s 2018 Status of Women will be presented to Dr. Dina Reideljas on Wednesday, March 21, at the annual celebration dinner and reception to be held at Theodore’s (formerly) Rusty Rail Restaurant, Route 5, Canastota. 

Dr. Radeljas is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Mohawk Valley Community College. She came to Utica with her family as a refugee in 1995 as refugees from a war torn Bosnia. A self-directed young woman, she complete her education, with a master’s degree from SUNY Poly and a doctorate from Capella University.  

This award will be given in recognition of Dina’s many and outstanding contributions to improve the quality of life and status of women for women and girlss, the award announcement said. Through service and advocacy in her own life and career, Dina has promoted and advanced gender equality for women and girls in the local, state and national levels, the announcement added.
