Rome Sentinel: SUNY Poly offers students access to top-tier educational, research and career skills
It has been a year of evolution at SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Marcy campus where the institution continues to advance its educational and research mission, bridging the minds of tomorrow with the technology of today in ways that prepare them for life and the workforce of the future.
When first-year students moved onto the campus in 2017, they came from across the United States and more than 20 countries and marked the largest incoming class in the institution’s history. Last year also marked the first time SUNY Poly has welcomed students under New York State’s Excelsior Scholarship initiative, a program that makes the cost to attend SUNY Poly more affordable for middle-class families and individuals. It covers the cost of tuition for qualifying students who are enrolled in a two- or four-year degree program at any of the state’s public colleges and university campuses.
One of the most rapidly growing programs at SUNY Poly was the Interactive Media and Game Design program, which welcomed its initial group of first-year students and continues to expand its enrollment size and curricular contributions to the institution. As a school of technology, SUNY Poly continues to use tech to reach more students than ever before, increasing the number of fully-online degree programs, which allows students to pursue their educational goals from anywhere in the state, country, or the world.
In 2018 SUNY Poly will offer a master’s degree in Computer Network & Security that can be obtained fully online. The institution will also launch its first fully online bachelor’s degree program this year with Health Management Information. These additions join the already popular slate of online graduate programs that includes master’s in Accountancy, masters in Information Design & Technology, masters in Nursing Education, master’s in business administration, and an advanced certificate in data analysis.
