Executive officers for the 2018-19 SUNY Student Assembly were sworn in on Friday. New Student Assembly President Michael Braun of Elmont, NY has also been named a voting member of the SUNY board of trustees, as his position confers.

“It is a great honor to take on the immense challenge, and to try to meet the incredible opportunity, presented to me as the voice for SUNY’s 600,000 students on the Board of Trustees,” said Braun.

Braun, formerly the SA’s Chief Financial Officer, was elected as President and Trustee in April by student leaders across SUNY’s 64 campuses.

He served as SUNY Cortland’s student government president 2016-2017 and is currently a graduate student at the University at Albany.

Nicole Pereira of Baldwin, NY, was sworn in as SA Vice President for a second term. Pereira is currently a graduate student at the University at Albany.

Jakob Webster of Utica assumed office as SA’s Chief Financial Officer. He is currently a student at SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
