The University Police Department is designed to meet the specialized needs of a campus community. The department's responsibilities include:

  • Crime prevention and response
  • Criminal investigations
  • Traffic and parking supervision
  • Building security
  • Emergency first aid
  • Maintenance of public order
  • Other public safety and law enforcement activities

University Police Officers

University Police officers are responsible for enforcing applicable state and local laws, as well as SUNY Poly rules and regulations. University Police officers obtain their law enforcement authority under New York State law.
