Call University Police immediately by dialing x7111 from a campus phone or 315-792-7111 from any phone. You can also use blue light emergency call boxes or red emergency phones located throughout campus. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
SUNY Poly uses multiple communication methods to reach the campus community quickly. These may include RAVE Alert text messages, phone calls and emails, the campus siren, the SUNY Poly website, digital signage and local media when appropriate.
RAVE Alert is SUNY Poly's emergency notification system. Students and employees are automatically enrolled using their SUNY Poly email address. You are encouraged to add a mobile phone number and review your contact information so you can also receive text and voice alerts.
To update your information, log in to RAVE Alert using your SUNY Poly email address as your username. If you do not know or remember your password, select Forgot your Password and follow the instructions to reset it.
After logging in, you can add, remove or update contact methods, including mobile phone numbers, landline numbers and additional email addresses.
Treat the siren as a signal to stop, listen and seek information immediately. Follow instructions provided through RAVE Alert, campus announcements or the SUNY Poly website.
Evacuations or lockdowns may occur during incidents such as fires, gas leaks, hazardous material releases, active threats or structural concerns. Instructions will be communicated through official SUNY Poly emergency communication channels.
Each building has designated muster and assembly points (PDF) located a safe distance from campus buildings. Follow posted evacuation maps and directions from emergency personnel. Do not re-enter a building until an official all-clear has been given.

University Police coordinates the immediate response and works closely with local and state law enforcement agencies.
Medical and mental health emergencies are addressed through University Police and the Student Wellness & Counseling Center, as appropriate.

SUNY Poly plans and responds with consideration for individuals with mobility, sensory, medical or communication needs. This may include accessible communications, evacuation assistance and continuity of care when possible.
Families are encouraged to stay informed by communicating directly with their students, who will receive official campus alerts and updates. SUNY Poly may also share verified information through the SUNY Poly website, official social media channels and local media when appropriate.
