    Acting President
  • Alain Diebold, Ph.D.
    Special Assistant to the President; Empire Innovation Professor of Nanoscale Science
    As Special Assistant to the President, Dr. Alain Diebold is responsible for mapping academic opportunities in student success and quantum information science and engineering, among others.
  • Michael Frame
    Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Staff
    As SUNY Poly’s Chief Operating Officer, Michael Frame has overall strategic and operational responsibilities to direct, administer, and coordinate the operational activities of SUNY Poly’s campuses. He oversees Human Resources, Information Technology Services, University Police, Utica facilities, Campus & Corporate Events, Communications & Marketing, External Relations, Institutional Research, and the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Foundation. In his Chief of Staff role, Mike coordinates the work of the Office of the President and serves as the point of contact for various internal and external constituent groups, including the New York Center for Research, Economic Advancement, Technology, Engineering and Science (NY-CREATES) and the Auxiliary Services Corporation.
  • Rhonda Haines
    Vice President of Human Resources
    In this capacity, Rhonda Haines provides strategic direction and execution of Human Resources strategies and plans, focusing on aligning them with the institution’s operations and in support of SUNY Poly’s academic and research mission. This includes formulating, implementing, and establishing policies and practices, managing all personnel operations and administration, and serving as the institution’s Affirmative Action and Chief Ethics Officer.
  • Susan Head
    Senior Associate Vice President for Finance
    In this role, Susan will be responsible for business affairs, student accounts, purchasing, accounts payable, and mailroom and print shop offices, as well as oversight of all of SUNY Poly’s financial activities. She is also tasked with leading campus budget planning efforts and maintaining internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and policies.
  • Marybeth Lyons
    Vice President for Student Affairs; Vice President for Enrollment Management
    As Vice President for Student Affairs, Marybeth Lyons is responsible for determining strategic direction and long-range planning of Student Affairs, with oversight of Athletics (Athletic Compliance & Academic Success); the Wellness Center (Health Services, Health Promotion and Counseling); Residential and Campus Life (student activities, student government, first-year seminar, and orientation); Career Services; Disability Services; the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP); Educational Opportunity Program (EOP); the CARE team; and Community Standards and Leadership Development.

    As Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marybeth Lyons is responsible for providing leadership and support for Enrollment Management at SUNY Poly and for integration of the goals of Enrollment Management with the larger strategic goals of the University. Ms. Lyons works with Undergraduate Admissions functional areas and is tasked with increasing enrollment numbers in both undergraduate and graduate programs through innovative tactics and policies.
  • Mark Montgomery, Ph.D.
    Chief Diversity Officer
    As Chief Diversity Office, Dr. Montgomery leads the president's committee on diversity, equity and inclusion and develops implements and provides strategic leadership for SUNY Poly’s diversity plan to ensure a campus community that is welcoming, supportive, values differences and inclusion for all students, faculty and staff. Dr. Montgomery is also responsible for the development and implementation of curricular offerings in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion, and providing leadership in the cooperative creation and delivery of Institution-wide diversity, equity and cultural competency training programs. As CDO, Dr. Montgomery works with Human Resources and provides guidance in the adoption of best practices in increasing diversity, equity and inclusion. He focuses on opportunities relating to increasing the recruitment and retention of diverse students, faculty, and staff. He is also focused on creating or revising policies and procedures related to advancing an inclusive climate that celebrates diversity and promotes equity and inclusion.
  • Steve Schneider, Ph.D.
    Interim Provost
    As SUNY Poly’s Interim Provost, Dr. Steve Schneider oversees academic operations, including SUNY Poly’s six academic colleges and the administrative departments for Scholarship, Accreditation, Assessment, Distance Learning, and Student Success, as well as the Library and Office of the Registrar. The Interim Provost fosters academic excellence and accountability, cultivates innovative academic programs for the long-term growth of the Institution, and supports faculty development while working with other leadership team members to ensure the fiscal health of the academic operations. Dr. Schneider also works closely with SUNY Poly’s shared governance representatives.
  • Shadi Shahedipour-Sandvik, Ph.D.
    Interim Vice President of Research and Graduate Studies
    As Interim Vice President of Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Shahedipour-Sandvik will provide effective leadership in advancing SUNY Poly’s world-class academic research, supporting and enabling R&D opportunities for faculty and researchers, and providing students with hands-on research experience to impart the skills required to support their future successes.
     
    Dr. Shahedipour-Sandvik continues to provide leadership for both doctoral and master’s degree programs; administer the graduate programs budget and the awarding of degrees; monitor graduate-level academic standards; and conduct reviews of graduate programs. In collaboration with other units, Dr. Shahedipour-Sandvik works to enable an enhanced student life for the professional development of graduate students at SUNY Poly.
