NYS University Police at SUNY Polytechnic is accepting registrations for the upcoming National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course.

The class is being offered is on Wednesday, August 14th, from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The course will be held in Kunsela Hall, room B117. 

To register for the class, bring your payment (cash or check) to University Police located in Kunsela Hall, Suite B126, make checks payable to Auxiliary Services. Please note that payment needs to be made at the time of registration for the course. No walk in’s will be accepted, you must register in advance of the class. Refunds will not be given without prior
cancellation of your attendance of the class.

The cost is $20 for SUNY Poly faculty, staff and students (includes State, Research Foundation and Auxiliary Services employees, retirees and students/alumni) and $30 for
people that are not associated to the college.

By taking the NSC’s six-hour class, you will save money for three full years. You will receive up to a 10% discount on your vehicle collision and liability insurance premiums each year for three years. This discount applies to the base rate of your automobile and motorcycle insurance premiums providing you are listed as the principal operator.

The same six-hour class may allow you to receive up to a four (4) point reduction on your driving record with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. The class may be taken once
every 18 months for point reduction.
