Erin Schurr
Erin Schurr took over the women’s soccer team in 2012 and is heading into her fourth season with the Wildcats. During that time, Schurr has posted a career record of 27-30-3. In addition to women’s soccer, she is also the head coach for the women’s lacrosse team, and the staff advisor for SUNY Poly’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.).
Schurr led her 2014 team to a 9-10-2 (7-4-1 NEAC) record which helped them advance to the NEAC tournament. Several of her players earned NEAC and ECAC player of the week accolades; resulting in two players being named to the NEAC All-Conference teams at the end of the season.
In 2013, the Wildcats registered an 8-10-1 overall record and a 7-4 NEAC record while recording six shut outs. The Wildcats compiled a 10-10-1 overall record and an 8-4 NEAC record to help them reach the first round of the NEAC tournament in Schurr’s initial season at the helm.
Under Schurr's guidance, three players earned all-conference awards in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
Before she became head coach, Schurr served a two-year apprenticeship as the Wildcat’s assistant coach helping guide the 2010 team to a 15-4 overall record and an 11-0 NEAC record and NEAC Regular Season Championship. The Wildcats boasted 6 all-conference players, one conference player of the year, and numerous Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) player of the week accolades.
Schurr is a 2007 graduate of SUNY Fredonia, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management and was a center midfielder for the Blue Devils women’s soccer program. In addition, she contributed four years to the women’s lacrosse program as well. Schurr earned her Master’s Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University, Irvine in the Spring of 2014.
Said SUNY Poly Athletic Director Kevin Grimmer of Schurr's promotion in 2012, "Women's Lacrosse and Soccer are major team sports for SUNY Poly and we're excited to see them fully develop and compete well under her leadership."
