ABI/INFORM - Comprehensive business database with scholarly journals, newspapers, magazines, and trade journals.

Academic Search Complete -  Offers information in nearly every area of academic study, including: sciences, social sciences, arts & literature, ethnic studies, and many more. Full-text for over 6,100 titles (5,100 peer-reviewed); indexing and abstracting for 10,600 titles; complete historical coverage and citation searching for select titles.

Academic Video Online (AVON) - NEW August 2022! - Academic Video Online is a comprehensive video subscription that delivers video titles spanning the widest range of subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more. Curated for the educational experience, the massive depth of content and breadth of content-types (such as documentaries, films, demonstrations, etc.) makes this database a useful resource for faculty and students alike.

ACM Digital Library - Full-text coverage of ACM (Association of Computing Machinery) periodicals and transactions. A few conference proceedings are also available in full-text. Includes citations to related articles in computing and information technology.

ACS (American Chemical Society) Journals - Access to ACS Journals, including full text of current journals and archives dating back to 1879.

American Antiquarian Society (AAS) Historical Periodicals  - This premier library documents the life of America's people from the Colonial Era through the Civil War and Reconstruction, providing digital access to the most comprehensive collection of American periodicals published between 1684 and 1912.

AIP (American Institute of Physics) Journals Access to American Institute of Physics (AIP) journals and publications, including full-text of current and backfile coverage of almost 50 journals. Also included are publications by the American Vacuum Society (AVS).

APS (American Physical Society) Journals - Access to APS journals, including full text of current journals and archives dating back to 1893.  This journal collection is also called the Physical Review Online Archive (PROLA).

Applied Science & Technology Source - Covers research and development within a variety of applied science and computing disciplines in addition to the business and social implications of new technologies. Sources include leading trade and industrial journals, professional and technical society journals, and conference proceedings, and the database offers full text for almost 1,200 journals.

Arts & Humanities Database - Provides access to 400 contemporary specialist arts titles combined with journals from related fields including ethnic studies, women’s studies, sociology, cultural studies, and more.

ASTM Compass [This database is unreliable off campus (12/2021), try clearing cookies and using different browsers] - Provides access to American Society for Testing and Materials publications including ASTM standards, 1,600 journals, 1,500+ eBooks and 60,000+ papers, chapters, and conference proceedings. Coverage dating back to 1932.

Biological Science Database - Comprehensive coverage of biological science fields including animal behavior, aquatic life and fisheries, chemoreception, biochemistry, ecology, plant science, toxicology, virology, microbiology, immunology genetics, health and safety science, oncogenes, entomology, and endocrinology neuroscience. Also includes access to MEDLINE'S extensive medical resources.

Business Insights: Essentials (now known as Gale Business: Essentials) - Access to articles, press releases, and information for domestic and international companies and associations.  Provides access to investment reports, corporate chronologies company histories, and some SWOT analyses. Also includes brands and product information, industry and company rankings, and financial overviews.

Business Source Complete - Full text in all disciplines of business, including journals (many peer reviewed), market research reports, industry reports, country reports, SWOT analyses, and much more.

Chronicle of Higher Education - The Chronicle has the nation’s largest newsroom dedicated to covering colleges and universities. It is a privately owned independent news and information organization founded in 1966.

CINAHL Plus with Full Text - Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature. Provides indexing for more than 3000 journals in nursing, biomedicine, alternative medicine, consumer health. Has full text articles for 560 journals.

Cochrane Collection Plus -  Combines the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Cochrane Clinical Answers, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and Cochrane Methodology Register.  EBSCOhost platform.

Computer Science Database - The Computer Science Database is a growing resource of 4.2 million full text articles from over 500 sources in computing and information science. In full-text format, researchers have access to charts, diagrams, graphs, tables, photos, and other graphical elements.

Consumer Health Database - The Consumer Health Database offers international coverage of an enormous range of public health subjects, including pandemics, disaster preparedness, obesity, sports injuries, women’s health, food and nutrition, midwifery, and more.

Education Database - Education Database covers not only the literature on primary, secondary, and higher education but also special education, home schooling, adult education, and hundreds of related topics.

Education Source - Journals about all levels of education--from early childhood to higher education--as well as all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education and testing.

Environment Complete - Deep coverage of sustainability issues, with indexing beginning in the 1940s. Also full text of current core journals and books related to environmental issues.

Environmental Science Database - The Environmental Science Database provides resources in environmental science, agricultural science, and related fields. Content is selected from several specialist topic resources in disciplines such as engineering, biotechnology, bacteriology, atmospheric science, ecology, and biology, and includes scientific journals, trade journals, new sources, conference proceedings, reports, monographs, books, and government documents.

ERIC - Premier index of Education resources, including abstracts of articles from over 1000 journals and of documents such as teaching guides, research reports, lesson plans, and test and evaluation instruments.

Exploring Race in Society from EBSCO - Search or browse for essays and research articles on ten topic areas:  civil rights, criminal justice, diversity, economics, education, government, health care, history, race and racism, and social justice.

GreenFILE - An interdisciplinary database covering topics related to environmental concerns and sustainability. Includes indexing and abstracts for articles and books.

HarpWeek - Full text and page images of the popular Harper's Weekly from the Civil War Era (1857-1865).

Healthcare Administration Database - This database provides full text of scholarly journals and over 6000 dissertations, as well as healthcare industry reports, on the topics of hospitals, insurance, law, statistics, business management, ethics, health economics, and public health administration.

Health Source: Consumer Edition - Provides access to nearly 80 full text, consumer health magazines, 1,000 health-related pamphlets, 130 health reference books, 4,500 Clinical Reference Systems reports and consumer medication information.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition - Provides access to nearly 550 scholarly full text medical journals and consumer medication information.

HeinOnline: Civil Rights and Social Justice - This HeinOnline collection compiles primary and secondary documents on many aspects of civil rights in both the United States and nations around the globe.

HeinOnline: Gun Regulation and Legislation in America - This HeinOnline collection compiles legislative, judicial, and historical materials concerning the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

HeinOnline: LGBTQ+ Rights - This HeinOnline collection charts the gay rights movement in America, showing the civil rights codified into law in the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as the inequalities that still exist today. Topics covered include the Defense of Marriage Act, the AIDS crisis, military service by gay and transgender service members, "bathroom bills," and more.

HeinOnline: Slavery in America and the World: History, Culture & Law  - This HeinOnline collection brings together a multitude of essential legal materials on slavery in the United States and the English-speaking world.

Humanities Source - Provides articles, interviews, obituaries, book reviews, and original works of fiction, drama, and poetry. Also included are reviews of ballets, dance, motion pictures, musicals, radio and television programs, plays, operas, and more. Coverage to 1920's.

IEEE Xplore - Provides full-text and indexing for articles and papers on computer science, electrical engineering and electronics. Mainly covers material from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

IOP Science - Search publications from the Institute of Physics (IOP), including over 750,000 articles from a variety of current publications in Physics, Photonics, Environment and Climate, Computational and Mathematical Physics, and many more Physics related topics.  Also included are archives of IOP publications back to the 19th century.

JSTOR - JSTOR provides access to more than 12 million journal articles, books, images, and primary sources in 75 disciplines. Although JSTOR's primary focus is on deep backfiles and historical content, there are some current publications available. 

LGBTQ+ Source - provides scholarly and popular LGBTQ+ publications in full text, plus historically important primary sources, including monographs, magazines and newspapers. It also includes a specialized LGBTQ+ thesaurus containing thousands of terms.

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts with Full Text - Indexes more than 560 core journals--plus books, research reports and proceedings--and contains full text for more than 330 journals.

Literature Resource Center - Biographical and selected critical coverage of frequently studied authors & works. 

LitFinder - Full-text of thousands of poems, essays, stories, and speeches. Also includes citations for poems, biographies, glossaries, illustrations, and work explanations. 

MasterFILE Premier - Designed specifically for public libraries, this database provides full-text magazines, reference books and primary source documents. It also includes an extensive image collection containing photos, maps and flags.

MathSciNet - Contains almost 3 million records, including reviews of, abstracts and citations for much of mathematical sciences literature. Allows users to track the history and influence of research publications.

MEDLINE - More than 3,900 journals published internationally, covering all areas of medicine.

Military & Government Collection - Current news about all branches of the military and government, including full-text of 300 journals and magazines and 250 pamphlets.

MRS Advances  - Current content from MRS Meetings including proceedings and peer-reviewed papers.  

New York Times - Full text version of the authoritative newspaper with coverage beginning 1980.  A New York Times Digital subscription, with coverage beginning 1851, is also available to SUNY Poly community members who create an account

Newspaper Source Plus - Full text coverage for major national and international newspapers, plus television and radio news transcripts, videos & podcasts.

OpenDissertations from EBSCO - A collaboration between EBSCO and BiblioLabs, you can join the movement and add your theses and dissertations to the database, making them freely available to researchers everywhere while increasing traffic to your institutional repository.  This new collaboration extends the work started in 2014, when EBSCO and the H.W. Wilson Foundation created American Doctoral Dissertations, which contained indexing from the H.W. Wilson print publication, Doctoral Dissertations Accepted by American Universities, 1933-1955. In 2015, the H.W. Wilson Foundation agreed to support the expansion of the scope of the American Doctoral Dissertations database to include records for dissertations and theses from 1955 to the present.

Ovid Nursing Full Text+ with Ovid Emcare - a comprehensive single source of both premier current journal content from Lippincott and powerful bibliographic and abstract data from the Ovid Nursing Database and Ovid Emcare.

Points of View Reference Source - Essays and supporting resources that present multiple sides on contemporary topics.

ProQuest Academic - Provides access to 4,500 full text scholarly journals, trade publications, and magazines covering a range of academic disciplines.

PsycARTICLES - Full-text for 59 core scholarly and scientific journals. Covers topics of general psychology and specialized, applied, clinical and theoretical research. Coverage back to 1800's.

Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection - Provides access to more than 530 full-text journals with strong coverage in child & adolescent psychology and counseling.

PsycINFO - Journal articles (more than 1,700 periodicals), book chapters, books, dissertations and reports on psychology and related fields. Extensive historical coverage.

Psychology Database - The Psychology Database encompasses a wide range of topics from leading psychological and psychosomatic publications. In addition to clinical and social psychology, it also provides coverage of related disciplines including genetics, psychology of business and economics, communication, criminology, addiction, neurology, social welfare, and more.

Publicly Available Content Database - Designed to complement other databases and collections, this database brings together or links to full text for publicly available scholarly content from a number of different sources from around the world. It includes content from major subject repositories such as arXiv as well as open access journals.

PubMed - A free resource from the US National Library of Medicine containing more than 30 million citations and abstracts of biomedical literature, including content from MEDLINE. PubMed provides links to full text whenever it is available and contains over 5 million full-text journal articles.

Regional Business News - 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires from across the United States. Updated daily.

Religion Database - The Religion Database provides a wide range of primarily full-text, international periodicals for diverse religious and spiritual studies, covering formal theological studies of major religions, as well as the most recent trends and scholarly thought. Included are titles from religious publishing bodies and nondenominational organizations.

Research Library - Over 6000 titles across the top 150 subject areas, including arts, education, health science, engineering, and more. A general purpose database.

Science Database - A definitive resource for students of applied and general science, with over 7 million full-text articles from leading journals in science and engineering disciplines.

ScienceDirect - SUNY contract for this resource ended in 2019, but full-text coverage of 2,200+ journals with 10 or more years of backfiles still accessible as legacy content. Focus is on scientific, technical and medical fields, plus significant social sciences coverage.

Scifinder (Registration Link)  |  Scifinder (Direct Link for Registered Users) - Registration with SUNY Poly/CNSE email required.  Current and comprehensive indexing and abstracting source for chemical literature.  Coverage back to 1900.

Social Services Abstracts - Provides citations to research focused on community development, human services, social policy, social welfare, and social work.

Social Science Database - The Social Science Database offers indexing and full text for hundreds of academic journals, providing extensive coverage across a wide range of social science disciplines including anthropology, criminology, economics, education, political science, psychology, social work, and sociology.

Sociological Abstracts  - Abstracts and indexes the international literature in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences. Provides abstracts for over 1,800+ journals, and also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, dissertations, and conference papers.

SPIE Digital Library -  Contains an extensive research collection on optics and photonics from 11 peer-reviewed journals and over 8,000 conference proceedings from 1962 to current. More than 18,000 conference papers and journals articles are added each year.

Teacher Reference Center - provides indexing and abstracts for more than 230 peer-reviewed journals in all areas of education, including assessment, pedagogy, curriculum, and teacher evaluation.

US Newsstream -US Newsstream provides key national and regional news sources from the U.S. and includes exclusive and preferred access to top titles, including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, Newsday, and Chicago Tribune.

Value Line - Value Line is a comprehensive research resource that provides information on companies, stocks, markets, and general insights on the economy.  Valueline provides in-depth market reports, stock and company rankings anad analysis, stock and investing forecasts, and other investor education resources.  This resource is limited to 3 simultaneous users, so if you receive a message about exceeding the number of users, please try back in a few minutes.  Further Information and User Guides are available from Value Line.

Wall Street Journal - Full text version of the authoritative newspaper.

Web of Science - Web of Science is a collection of multidisciplinary citation databases with high-level features to link to citations and connect to related citations.  SUNY Poly's access to the Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Index covers 2010-present.  The Emerging Sources Citation Index extends from 2015-present.  Other indexes included in SUNY Poly's Web of Science subscription are SciELO Citation Index (1997-Present), Medline (1950-present), Russian Science Citation Index (1997-present), and KCI-Korean Journal Database (1980-present).  Web of Science also integrates with the Citation Manager, Endnote.

Women & Social Movements - Digital library of primary source documents relevant to US history of women and social movements. Includes dozens of document collections with thousands of document pages. Images, transcriptions, and supporting information are available for each document.
