Albany Business Review: From Ireland to Albany: Growing engineering firm moves into ZEN building

I wanted to share with you a recent article published in the Albany Business Review:

Engineering firm DPS, the latest tenant to move into the new Zero Energy Nanotechnology building at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, plans to grow aggressively.

In the two months since opening an office at the so-called ZEN building — a gleaming $191 million building at the university's campus in Albany, New York, that towers above Interstate 90 near Exit 2 — DPS has filled the 5,000 square feet with 20 full-time employees. The firm expects to have 10 more by the end of this year.

"Through next year, that will incrementally grow," said Kevin Fenton, vice president of operations, "until we have 45 to 50 in [the second quarter]."

The goal: 65 employees by the end of 2016, a growth that would require knocking down an adjoining wall and filling another 2,500 square feet.

Another 50 employees who report to the Albany office are spread across the U.S.
