Albany Business Review: Nanocollege picked as site for $2.1
million National Science Foundation center

cnse*750xx4256-2394-0-219.jpgSUNY Polytechnic Institute's  Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, also known as the Nanocollege, has been chosen as the home of a three-year, $2.1 million National Science Foundation center.

The NSF's Northeast Advanced Technological Education Center will be based at the Albany, New York, school, with the goal of providing programs to get students ready for jobs, coordinating recruitment of students, creating employment opportunities and researching workforce trends and training needs, according to a release announcing the decision.

NEATEC is a training partnership between SUNY Poly, Fairfield University, the NSF, and Hudson Valley and Mohawk Valley community colleges. It was developed in 2010 to provide training and education in semiconductor and nanotechnology fields and is currently located at Hudson Valley Community College.
