SolarCity is hiring for 44 jobs at its factory in Buffalo-- with a strong emphasis on engineering positions.
Thirty of those jobs either require licensed engineers or are related to engineering functions, highlighting the advanced nature of the manufacturing operations in Buffalo.
The factory is expected to directly employ at least 500 people when it's fully operational following an initial opening in the second quarter of 2017. That is significantly less than the 1,460 manufacturing jobs at the facility projected by state Gov. Andrew Cuomo in August 2015.
