SUNY Polytechnic Institute has received $1.2 million in state funding to support its clean energy incubator at the nanotechnology campus in Albany.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority announced Friday it will renew the three-year funding for the incubator, which was established in 2010 with a $1.5 million grant.

The incubator, known as iCLEAN, is home to several startup companies, including Bess Technologies, a battery technology company that is profiled in this week's edition of the Albany Business Review. More than 27 companies have worked at the incubator, which has graduated four startups.
