SUNY Poly’s Utica campus will host the CNY Hackathon Friday and Saturday, April 10-11, in Kunsela Hall. More than 50 students from SUNY Poly, MVCC, HCCC, Syracuse University and Utica College are expected to participate.

This is an event put together by SUNY Poly faculty and staff associated with the cybersecurity program NCS (Network and Computer Security), especially Ronny Bull and Nick Merante, as well as MVCC faculty.

The event schedule is as follows:

Friday 4 pm:  Kickoff

Friday 4-8 pm: Keynote talks by various local experts and NCS alumni.

Saturday 9 am-5 pm: Hackathon competition, where 5 or 6 teams will each work to protect their network from Red-team hackers who are part of the competition staff. Everyone is together at both the start and end of the day, breaking out into separate rooms in Kunsela Hall’s C-wing during the competition.
