ALBANY — SUNY Polytechnic Institute's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in Albany announced Monday it’s partnering with Graphene Frontiers for development in the electronics industry.

Graphene Frontiers LLC will provide a $3 million capital investment at SUNY PI. The partnership is expected to support 27 employees and $5 million in total investments, including equipment and operating costs.

“A partner like the State University of New York’s College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering will rapidly accelerate our development efforts,” Graphene Frontiers CEO Mike Patterson said in a statement. “We look forward to sharing our vetted knowledge and resources, as well as exposing ourselves to key stakeholders who can further our company vision.”

Graphene Frontiers, based in Philadelphia, is a world leader in advanced nanotechnology. The company manufactures graphene for commercial and industrial applications.
