The SUNY Poly Utica campus participates in single-stream recycling through the OHSWA RecycleOne One and Done program. This means all recyclable items – paper, plastic, metal, and glass – should be mixed together loosely in one recycle bin.

The OHSWA RecycleOne (pdf) flyer has been provided to each department or office to remind everyone what is and is not recyclable.

Below are tips for recycling:

OK TO RECYCLE
Food & Beverage Containers Such As: Green, Amber, and Clear glass including Liquor & Wine Bottles, All Deposit Bottles (Beer, Tea, Juice, etc.), Canning Jars.

DO NOT place in RecycleOne bins
Broken Glass, Drinking Glasses, Ovenware & Ceramics, Window Panes, Mirrors, Dishes, Cups, Plates, Windshields or Light Bulbs (CFLs have some mercury and are considered hazardous waste)

Special Instructions
Do Not Break Glass! Labels Do Not Need To Be Removed. Rinse Thoroughly. Remove Lids.
