This past weekend a critical failure occurred in a piece of hardware that controls our storage environment. The redundancy built into the system functioned correctly preventing down time to storage resources, however the failed parts must now be replaced.

ITS needs to perform an emergency replacement of this hardware to reduce risk to the SUNY Poly storage system. The repairs to the system will begin tomorrow morning, September 22, at 7 am). During this replacement there is the potential for slowness or disconnects to occur with some network shares. The manufactures’ technicians will be onsite and will be working closely with ITS staff to limit any interruption.

ITS will follow up with another community mailer when the repair has been completed. We appreciate your patience while we make this emergency repair.
