RE:Interim Director of Information Technology Services Appointment

I am pleased to announce that Andrew Bellinger, interim director of Information Technology Services (ITS), has assumed expanded responsibilities and will now serve as SUNYIT’s interim assistant vice president for Information Technology Services. In his role as the interim director of ITS, Andrew has been responsible for overseeing Networking, Systems, Telcom, Programming, and Instructional Resources. Beginning today, Andrew will also be responsible for overseeing the Help Desk and User Services units. Andrew will work very closely with Elizabeth Tolman, manager of the Help Desk and User Services, as she continues with daily management of those operations.  

A centralized ITS organizational structure will enable SUNYIT to establish clear roles, responsibilities and expectations for all ITS personnel and best position ITS staff to provide an enhanced level of customer service and problem resolution. This structure will also eliminate duplication of effort between various ITS units and promote collaborative project management.

This summer, ITS staff successfully completed the installment of numerous systems to create a faster and more reliable infrastructure. Under Andrew’s interim leadership, I am confident that ITS will continue to provide an enhanced level of service which will contribute to SUNYIT’s long-term institutional development and success. A search for the assistant vice president for information technology services will commence in the 2014 – 2015 academic year.
