To: SUNY Poly Utica campus From: Robert Geer, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Subject: NANOvember Quad-C Community Day

To all those students, faculty and staff volunteers who made Community Day at the Quad-C a great success, my thanks for your contributions of time and talent to this important event. It was truly inspiring to see the level of engagement between the SUNY Poly community and the more than 450 visitors who were excited to see the amazing progress that has taken place on this project. Special thanks to Elizabeth Rossi and her crew of volunteers, who really made Community Day come alive for students and parents through a variety of hands-on activities, and to our partners at M+W Group for their enthusiastic participation and support.

As many of you know, our event was an important part of “NANOvember”—a statewide celebration of nanotechnology development and success that is transforming the Upstate economy, thanks to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s vision for regional economic revitalization. All told, more than 3,000 New Yorkers attended our event and similar ones at CNSE in Albany and other SUNY Poly sites.

Again, thanks to our volunteers for a job well done!
