Earlier this month saw the grand opening of an innovative new educational model benefitting Albany’s South End. Funded by a $4.98 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), with “additional matching funds” by the Albany Housing Authority and $250,000 from SEFCU and SUNY Polytechnic Institute, the Capital South Campus Center is a ground-breaking cooperative effort between local institutions of higher learning, community stakeholders and business to make continued education more accessible and valuable to residents of the South End and beyond.
