M+W's new CEO talks big projects, growth

Ron Oakley came to M+W in 2012 after spending years as an executive with several of the largest engineering and contracting firms in the U.S., including Fluor and Bovis Lend Lease, among others.

Calling himself a "miltary brat" as a child, Oakley's career has taken him all over the world, from New York City to London, though he does have family roots in Rochester.

Following Rick Whitney's October departure to take over Adolfson & Peterson Construction in the Midwest, Oakley was named CEO of the U.S. operations of M+W, a top local employer and the company behind some of the largest projects in the region -- think SUNY Polytechnic in Albany or GlobalFoundries in Malta.
