National Save for Retirement Week (NS4RW) is the first congressionally endorsed, national event to promote the benefits of saving for retirement and encourage people to do so through all of the available options.  This featured time was designed to increase awareness of the importance to save for the future, highlight the advantages of starting early, and encourage taking full advantage of any available savings vehicles, especially those available through employment.  Now is a great time for everyone to consider personal retirement goals, revisit and rebalance investment allocations as needed to ensure retirement readiness for the future, well in advance.  There are many resources available to assist in doing this:

The National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators, Inc. (NAGDCA) web site offers information and materials that help explain why saving for retirement is so important, including cost of living assessments, projected retirement income needs, projected growth in retirement savings, and more.

The International City/County Management Association Retirement Corporation (ICMA-RC) web site provides webinars, calculators, and other features in recognition of the week.

Financial education & planning tools are available here on the SUNY Benefits webpage.

Today is the time to save for tomorrow!
