To SUNY Polytechnic Institute Faculty and Staff:

Notice has been received that the New York State Financial System (SFS) will soon begin their annual fiscal year-end processing.  SFS is projected to be unavailable from Monday, March 28, 2016 until Monday, April 11, 2016.  During this time, the SUNY Financial Management System application (FMS) will be available, but nothing will transmit to SFS until after SFS is back up and running.

What this means to you:

1. Purchase Orders and payments can be entered but processing may be delayed during the SFS downtime, resulting in a possible delay of your order.
2. P-Card transactions are encouraged and will continue delay-free.
3. Please take this downtime into consideration as you plan your procurements and payments.  If you know of a planned procurement, complete a Purchase Requisition as soon as possible and send it to the Procurement Office for entry to reduce the chance of delay.
