Observer-Dispatch: SUNY photo exhibition shows life of local
refugees
Observer-Dispatch
Ali was one of about 40 people who late Wednesday afternoon were at the Gannett Gallery at SUNY Polytechnic Institute to check out the exhibit "The Faces of Refugee Resettlement in Central New York," which includes photographs by Lynne Browne and Kathryn Stam.
Browne and Stam photographed the subjects of the exhibit at cultural events in Utica and Rome from 2012 to 2016. While many of the subjects came to Utica over the past 15 years, some arrived only days before they were photographed. Utica currently has about 15,000 living within the city limits.
