There has been discussion of SUNY Poly possibly switching to the academic calendar that UAlbany currently uses.

The effects of this change are as follows:

Fall Semester: There is no mid-semester break in the UAlbany academic calendar. Instead, there are several days (and parts of days) in which classes are suspended for Jewish holidays. The last class day at SUNY Poly is Saturday Dec. 9; at UAlbany, the last class day is Monday Dec. 11.

Spring Semester: Classes at UAlbany start eight days later than at SUNY Poly. The Spring break at UAlbany is one week later than SUNY Poly. The last class day at SUNY Poly is Saturday, April 28; at UAlbany, the last class day is Wednesday, May 9.
