UTICA -- The Student Veterans Club is honored to present the 70th Anniversary of the End of World War II Remembrance Day event. For this historical event, veteran Alan Moskin, a World War II veteran, will address students, faculty, staff, and the local community to share his experiences as a combat soldier and as a “Concentration Camp” liberator.

Moskin was a member of the 66th Infantry, 71st Division, part of General George Patton’s 3rd Army, and his outfit fought in combat throughout Europe. On May 4, 1945, his Company participated in the liberation of the Gunskirchen Concentration Camp, a subcamp of Mauthausen. After the war ended, Moskin remained in Europe until June 1946 as a member of the U.S. Army of Occupation.
