Safety and security conference is May 16-17
With terrorism and homeland security again taking center stage in the national conversation following the Boston Marathon bombing and the foiled Canada Amtrak plot, SUNYIT will present a conference May 16-17 for academics and professionals concerned with safety and security issues.
"Safety and Security in the Global Age" will explore a broad range of safety and security issues and topics, including Information Safety and Security, Infrastructure Safety and Security, and Health Care Safety and Security. The keynote speaker will be transportation safety expert John Goglia, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board from 1995 to 2003. A Boston native, Goglia has more than 30 years’ experience in the aviation industry and has distinguished himself in numerous areas of transportation safety.
"We’re pleased that someone of John Goglia’s stature will share expertise and perspective with us,"said Wolf Yeigh, president of SUNYIT. "No doubt his lifelong connection to the city of Boston will inform his insights into recent events and how they will change our view of urban safety and security issues."
SUNYIT is presenting the conference in partnership with the University of Security Management (VŠBM) in Košice, Slovakia, and Tomas Bata University (TBU) in Zlín, Czech Republic.
