Summer 2015 (Phase 1) of the Blackboard (Bb) Migration
- Faculty training in Bb is available from Open SUNY and from the campus.
The 2-day Open SUNY Faculty
Blackboard Workshop is May 13 and 14, from 10-3, in G244
Donovan Hall. Seats are still available. Register here
Please arrive by 9:30 am we can start on time.
Breakfast and Lunch will be served.
SUNY Poly will be offering more workshops in May, June and August. The schedule and registration for dates through May 20 are posted on the Bb Migration site Workshops link. Additional dates will be added later and announced in the Faculty and Staff Announcements.
- Summer semester courses, faculty accounts and faculty enrollments have been added to Bb. Faculty can begin working on their summer courses now. Login to Bb with your SITNet ID at https://sunypoly.open.suny.edu
- All updates to the Summer 2015 schedule including changes in faculty assignments will be handled manually until the Banner-Blackboard integration processes go into production. Please submit an IT Support ticket for changes that are not reflected in Bb.
- Live Bb courses have the naming convention "Term YYYY: SUBCRS-SEQ Course Name" (e.g. Summer 2015: ACC386-35W Intermediate Accountng II).
- Please submit a IT Support ticket ( helpdesk.sunypoly.edu) if you cannot login to Bb with your SITNet ID or do not see your live summer course.
- Students registered for summer courses will be added to Bb on May 15 with updates occurring Monday-Friday at 12 pm and 5 pm.
- The Online Learning site will be updated for Blackboard after the Spring semester. Information about Bb is https://sunypoly.edu/online/blackboard. Student questions about the migration to Bb is posted on that page.
Fall 2015 (Phase 2) of the Bb
Migration
- Faculty accounts for those teaching fall courses have been added to Bb. Faculty can begin working on their fall courses now. Login to Bb with your SITNet ID at https://sunypoly.open.suny.edu
- Fall 2015 development shells and faculty enrollments for online and hybrid courses were added to Bb. Additional development shells will created via an IT Support request (helpdesk.sunypoly.edu).
- Please submit a IT Support request ( helpdesk.sunypoly.edu) if you cannot login to Bb with your SITNet ID.
- Live Fall semester courses will be created in mid-June.
Reminders:
- Spring 2015 is the last semester ANGEL will be used for courses, but is not the deadline for your access to ANGEL. The deadline for access to ANGEL is October 31st. There is still time to request migration shells for ANGEL courses via IT Support request (helpdesk.sunypoly.edu)
- Export and archive your Spring courses when the semester is finished.
- Starting May 18th, student access to online and hybrid courses in Bb will begin on the official course start date.
- Faculty can provide early access to the course syllabus via college e-mail. ( instructions to email students)
- Instructors can extend access to their Bb courses themselves rather than submitting an IT support ticket.
- The self-paced faculty courses Introduction to Blackboard Learn and " Intermediate Blackboard Learn are available for self-enrollment. Follow theseinstructions to add them to the My Courses tab.
