Russell_Andrew-228x300.jpg SUNY Polytechnic Institute Dean of Arts and Sciences Dr. Andrew Russell will appear this weekend on the award-winning national podcast and radio show, Freakonomics.

“The episode was inspired by an article my friend Lee Vinsel and I wrote calledHail the Maintainers,” Dr. Russell says. “We discuss our ideas about maintenance and innovation.”

Their article states that capitalism excels at innovation but is failing at maintenance and for most lives it is maintenance that matters more.

The episode, titled "In Praise of Maintenance" was originally recorded in October 2016 and can be heard here.

Freakonomics airs on WRVO on Sundays at noon in Utica and 2 pm on Sundays in Albany.

With 8 million downloads per month, Freakonomics Radio is an American public radio program discussing socioeconomic issues for a general audience and is a spin-off of the 2005 book Freakonomics.
